Serving Montana Businesses

The north Pretoria family suburb.

Montana isn't the east. It has its own rhythm, its own commercial nodes, and its own kind of customer. Most decisions here are made by busy parents on a budget.

Montana stretches across one of the bigger residential footprints in northern Pretoria. Family homes from the 80s and 90s, plus a large amount of newer townhouse and security cluster developments. Kolonnade Mall anchors the retail side. Sefako Makgatho Drive and the Zambezi Drive extension carry most of the commercial spine. Mediclinic Kloof sits at the edge for healthcare. Schools like Hoërskool Tuine and Laerskool Pierneef shape the family rhythm. Theresapark, Akasia, Doornpoort and Sinoville are all within minutes.

The Montana customer is value-aware. Mostly 30 to 55, two-income families, careful with money. Often Afrikaans-speaking. They compare options carefully. They want to know what you charge, whether you do good work, and whether you'll actually show up. They check Google reviews. They ask in the school WhatsApp group. They don't fall for fancy marketing or flashy branding. They want honest, reliable, and well-priced.

Montana doesn't care if your website looks like Apple's. It cares if you do good work, treat people fairly, and answer the phone. Your website's job is to prove all three before the call.

We've worked with Montana hair salons, family restaurants, panel beaters, plumbers, family GPs, accountants and small retailers. The brief is consistent. Honest, photo-led design. Real photos of you and your team. Clear pricing or starting prices. Real reviews from real local customers. Tap-to-call. WhatsApp links. And a tone that's warm and approachable, with comfort writing in Afrikaans where the audience prefers it.

Why most Montana websites cost more than they earn.

Three things kill conversions on most Montana sites we audit. All three are fixable in one build.

Issue 01

Hidden prices send customers to the next result

Montana customers shop on price first, then on trust. If your website says "contact for quote" and the next business shows a starting price, you lose the click before the call. Visible pricing isn't a weakness, it's a trust signal. The fear that you'll lose work by showing prices is real but small. The work you lose by hiding them is much bigger.

Issue 02

You don't show up on Google Maps

Most Montana businesses get a steady flow of work from "[your service] Montana" or "[your service] near me" searches. If your Google Business Profile is missing photos, has the wrong hours, or doesn't list real services, you're invisible on Maps. The business one strip mall over shows up first and gets the call.

Issue 03

The site doesn't talk to Afrikaans customers

A big slice of Montana customers are more comfortable in Afrikaans. Most sites are English-only or have a bad Google-translated Afrikaans page that screams "this isn't a real local business". Even one well-written Afrikaans section, or properly localised Google ads, can be a significant trust signal here.

The fix: a mobile-first website with honest pricing, real photos, real reviews, a properly set-up Google Business Profile, and where it fits, an Afrikaans option that's actually written by a human. Built for how Montana families actually search.

Three Montanas, one approach.

Montana has three main business clusters. Here's how we build for each one.

The Kolonnade-and-strip-mall belt.

Hair salons. Beauty studios. Nail bars. Family restaurants. Takeaways. Bakeries. Gyms. Aftercare and tutoring centres. Dance schools. Kids' party venues. Pet groomers. Small clothing and homeware boutiques. The Montana strip malls along Sefako Makgatho Drive and around Kolonnade are full of small family-run businesses that live or die on Google reviews and Instagram.

The sites we build for this sector are warm, photo-led and easy. Big real photos of the space, the team, the work (the new hair colour, the manicure, the cake). Clear pricing or service menus. Tap-to-book, tap-to-call, tap-to-WhatsApp. Review widget pulling in real Google reviews. Instagram feed embedded where it makes sense. And a tone that's friendly and unpretentious, the way Montana customers actually want to be spoken to.

"Family salons and family restaurants in Montana win on warmth, real photos, and consistency. Your website should feel like walking through the door."

The northern trades belt.

Plumbers, electricians, geyser specialists, aircon installers, painters, handymen, pest control. Panel beaters, mechanics, tyre fitters, auto-electricians along the commercial nodes around Akasia and the Sefako Makgatho Drive corridor. Builders and renovators working the Montana townhouse complexes and family homes. Garden services. Most are small family operations. Most depend on Google Maps, word of mouth, and the school WhatsApp group recommendation.

The sites we build for this sector are simple and direct. Service list with starting prices or callout fees. Big tap-to-call buttons. WhatsApp deep links. Real photos of the workshop, the trucks, the team, recent jobs. Customer reviews built into the homepage. And a properly set-up Google Business Profile so "[your trade] Montana" puts you in the top 3 on Maps. Most clients see leads double or triple within 90 days.

"Montana customers don't email contact forms. They tap to call. They WhatsApp. If your site doesn't make that easy in one tap, you lose the job to whoever's site does."

The neighbourhood professional.

Family GPs and dentists serving the northern suburbs. Small accounting and bookkeeping practices doing returns for local salons, traders and small businesses. Independent financial planners and insurance brokers known in the school and church networks. Mediclinic Kloof-adjacent specialist practices. Family-orientated medical and wellness services. Practical, trusted, recommended, never flashy.

The sites we build for this sector are clean and trust-led. Real photo of the practitioner. Real credentials. Plain-language service descriptions. Clear "medical aids accepted" for healthcare. Reviews from real local clients. Easy booking or consultation form. And a tone that's warm and competent without crossing into corporate marketing speak. The Montana professional wins on reputation, not on Google Ads spend.

"Montana professionals don't need flashy branding. They need a website that confirms what the referral already said: you're nearby, you're competent, you're worth the call."

Case Study · Family Salon

Mother-and-daughter hair salon, Kolonnade strip

A family-owned hair-and-beauty salon in a strip mall near Kolonnade. Two stylists (mother and daughter), one nail tech, a small premises with five chairs. Their old Wix site was unread, the contact form had been broken for a year, and they got most of their work from foot traffic and word of mouth. They wanted to fill the quiet midweek slots and grow their colour-and-cut client base. Most of their existing clients followed them on Instagram, not via Google.

We rebuilt as a warm, photo-led, mobile-first site. Real photos of the salon, both stylists, and recent colour work (with client consent for all images). Clear service menu with prices in Rand. Tap-to-book via WhatsApp. Live Google reviews on the homepage. Instagram feed embedded. Everything also written with Afrikaans-friendly tone. And a properly set-up Google Business Profile with the right categories (hair salon, beauty salon) and photos of the actual chairs and work, not stock images.

We also serve across Pretoria.

Montana sits at the north end of Pretoria. The other northern suburbs are minutes away, and we still happily work in the eastern suburbs when the project is right. Here's what's closest.

Honest answers to fair questions.

The questions we hear most often from Montana business owners. If yours isn't here, just ask.

Yes. We're based in Pretoria, and Montana is about 15 minutes from our studio. We meet clients in person at coffee shops, your office, or ours. Whichever works. Most of our current projects are with Montana businesses. We can share references in your industry if you'd like.
Yes, and for many Montana businesses we recommend at least an Afrikaans landing page or About section. Not a Google-translated mess, an actual Afrikaans-written page. We have copywriters who write natively in Afrikaans where needed. We can also set up parallel Afrikaans and English versions of the full site if your client base genuinely splits both ways, with proper hreflang tags so Google serves the right version to the right search. Costs a little more, but for the right business it pays back fast.
Honestly, no. 90% of the work is on a screen and a phone call. We do video calls, email, WhatsApp, the whole thing. We make in-person meetings at your business if you'd like, just usually for the kick-off meeting. Most of our clients across northern Pretoria say they barely notice we're not next door. The work speaks louder than the location.
Our Standard package starts at R7,950. You get a 5 to 7 page hand-coded site with SEO built in. Premium is R11,950 and adds a blog plus more advanced features. Ultimate is R14,950 and is our full package, made for businesses serious about ranking on Google. Bigger projects get a custom quote. Hosting is separate, from R99 a month. No surprise fees. No setup costs.
Standard sites take 3 to 4 weeks. Premium and Ultimate take 4 to 6 weeks. The biggest delay is usually waiting for your content (text, photos, logos), not the build itself. If you have everything ready, we can sometimes go faster. We'll give you a real timeline on our first call.
Yes. We build on WordPress, so you can change text, swap images, and add blog posts whenever you want. We also record a custom training video for your site, so you know exactly which buttons to click. For bigger changes (new pages, new sections), most clients prefer to email us and we do it for them. R650 an hour if you don't have a monthly plan.
You own everything. The code, the design, the words, the photos, the domain (in your name) and the WordPress install. Hosting with us is optional. We'll move your site to another host if you ever want. Most clients stay because our hosting is fast and local, and we look after it. But there's no lock-in. Ever.
Often yes. If your old site has decent bones (clean WordPress, tidy code), we can fix and improve it. If it's a Wix or Squarespace site with lots of problems, the honest truth is rebuilding from scratch usually costs the same as trying to fix it, and gives you a much better result. We'll do a free audit and tell you straight which way to go.

Let's build a website your Montana competitors can't match.

Book a free call. We'll look at what you have, show you what's possible, and give you a clear price. No pressure. No sales talk. No monthly fees until you've seen what we can do.
